"The soul can have no rainbows, unless the eyes have shed some tears!"

Many Tears Rescue is a small charity that takes in many unwanted, unloved or past their use (evil people who do the latter) dogs and some cats.

Their website is always full and their centres and fosters are full to bursting with dogs who need love and their forever home.

As their title on the website says "The soul can have no rainbows, unless the eyes have shed some tears!"

They care for numerous dogs that are x puppy farm. This evil process is where the evils breed and breed from dogs that do not know love. life, a home. They are treated as a commodity never cuddled, just puppy after puppy after puppy. Then at possibly 2 years the bitches have past their best they are left to be culled by the pound or rescued by people like Many Tears.

These dogs are not your usual bouncy babes that love human, they have not known humans, so are just shells of dogs. With time and care they become boucny and happy, but the time and input has to be found with their forever home.

Other dogs are deserted because they are a tie, are not what the owner wants, too big, wrong breed, too boisterous.

If you read this just think that if you take on a dog, that dog is a being. If you choose a dog he / she has a breed nature and a personality. Some dogs will want to be with people all the time, some will need lots of exercise to keep them happy, opthers will need special diets. Like people all dogs are different.

PLEASE take time to find the breed for you, the dog for you and ensure that for the next 15 + years that you can make the animal you choose a big part of your family, life, holiday plans, days out, days in and day to day life. Or do something wonderful, go to one of hundreds of centres and rescue a dog, give it that forever home that the past it has had has failed to do.

Max's Start in Life

There is mystery surrounding how Max came to be in the pound, but we do know that he was probably abused and probably an unwanted part of the litter possibly from a farm that wanted a sheep hearding dog. Max doesn't really want to know about sheep or cows, he likes horses, but is very nervous around most humans.

He arrived in the pound in Wales, did his 7 days and instead of being put down was saved by Sylvia at Many Tears Rescie. Within a few days he was taken to his foster home in Somerset, where he was introduced to about 15 resident chocloate labradors, horses, kids, other foster dogs and was partnered up with Mikie.

Mikie (black & gold kelpie)
Max (Very special Border Collie)

Mikie has also found a new home after an awful start in life. He was tied up for the 1st year of his life. On a chain with the same collar, that Many Tears had to have surgically removed from his kneck when he arrive. Mikie will always have a scar, but is still lovely, if a bit mad around people.

Back to Max, he is a gorgeous oversized puppy dog. He has found so many new things in his first few days with us that most people would be shell shocked.

His first -
ride in a car
house - new home
garden
stairs to climb and descend
doors - that he has learnt to open already
bed to relax on - preferably ours!!!
regular walkies and regular food with his own bowls and treats as well
- all within his diet, so as not to put on too much weight
forever family (humans and cat)

Things that have scared him -
thunder & lightoning
big exhaust on cars, noisy engines and car stereos
getting into the car, but jumps out no problem
Barney the cat - but this is just because he is new to Max, they are still settling in together
His first night in the kitchen, but we will kepp working on this.

One big thing that I think a lot of rescue animals have is timidness or a need to protect themselves. Max loves people and his head being scratched. But, when a man stands up he gets scred. Maybe a man abused him or was the route of his fears, we will never know, what Max will hopefully come to know is that no man will ever hurt him or scare him again. He is now in his forever home.

Time is a great healer and we have plenty to devote to Max.
